FUE method, which is quite common among hair transplantation methods, refers to the Follicular Unit Extraction. In this method, non-androgenic (resistant to shedding) hair follicles are individually removed by using tailored microsurgery tools without leaving an incision or stitch marks, and transplanted to the balding areas on the same day. Depending on the patients’ preferences, the procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia or sedation (a method where the patient doesn’t feel any pain).
As for the advantages of FUE method, since the hair follicles are removed individually and tailored microsurgery tools are used, post-operative recovery period only lasts for 2-3 days. There remains no scar in the operation area after the recovery process is over. In this method, maximum number of hair follicles are extracted from the donor area in accordance with the balding degree of the transplant area. Non-androgenic hair follicles in the donor area are extracted in a homogeneous and proportional manner. Thus, it is enabled to use the donor area again in the coming years. The same donor area can be used in ongoing sessions in the future by the FUE method depending on the patients’ needs and expectations.
